Trust trust trust
Strange why God will honour the life of a king who got rid of an outside show of idolatry but kept the evil practices. Funny why God would aid him to win a war (granted, his friends were not 1/2 as bad as he was).
Hardly fair as David would always say, "evil folks always get to ride off into the sunset with the gold."
Why?
2 kings 8:19 "Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah, for the sake of His servant David, as He promised him to give a lamp to him and his sons forever."
Just because of one promise which God refused to break.
I think we can trust Him - but at the same time be so very conscious of the moments of our days.
We serve a living God. He's not blind nor deaf nor unfeeling (Ps 115).
Today, Ps 115 reminds me that my endeavour to not 'go down silently' is one that is worth carrying. Sometimes, the most difficult thing about bearing burdens is the sober fact that we chose to carry them because of the love of Christ - throwing it away brings instant relief and its always a more attractive option to our fallen humanity.
